PurePotions Skin Salvation Moisturising Ointment

For anyone thinking of switching to all natural skincare products to sooth skin problems PurePotions is a pretty good place to start.

I first discovered the brand a couple of years ago whilst deep in an internet rabbit hole of some sort and remember being immediately drawn in by all of the superb reviews that the modest products had received. 5 stars all around told me that not only was PurePotions all natural and handmade but their Skin Salvation Moisturising Ointment was a miracle in a jar for dry and allergy prone skin – and who could ignore that? So order a jar I did!

I get my worst skin on my hands; mostly in the winter, but it can flare up all year round, so I’ve been using this ointment moreso as a hand cream on and off for a long time now and it certainly lives up to its reputation. Using a base of beeswax the Skin Salvation Moisturising Ointment features olive fruit oil, hemp seed oil and chamomile and calendula extracts to soften skin, reduce blemishes and protect skin against irritants.

You can pretty much do what you like with this ointment, there are no strict recommendations and it’s safe to use anywhere on the body. If, like me, you only have small patches of dry skin you can simply use it as you would a moisturiser but you can also apply liberally and leave on overnight for a deep moisture soak. I also occasionally like to use this as a lip balm (again, mainly in the winter) for a bit of extra protection against the elements. Seriously, you can do anything with this ointment.

You can pick up a 30ml jar from the PurePotions website for £7.99

But go and check out the full range of products, they’re all fab. The website also runs you through how to use the products in a daily routine and has an interesting page on how and why the brand exists.
