January Detox: Tisserand Tea Tree Duo

Despite being loaded with loads of new products from Christmas, January is definitely the time to tone it back and embrace the detox. A week packed with crisps and booze has taken its toll on my skin so out comes my saving grace; tea tree.

And where better to start than with tea tree oil and aromatherapy experts, Tisserand. All of their oils are “100% pure organic, wild crafted or ethically harvested, and are used and recommended by professional aromatherapists around the world.”

I’ve always found the trick with tea tree based skincare products and oils is to keep it simple and let the tea tree do its thing, that’s why I’ve chosen just 2 products from Tisserand’s Tea Tree+ range to help cleanse my skin and help to sooth and remove blemishes.

Tea Tree+ Clear Skin Facial Soap

This is just a super simple round bar of soap, free of artificial colourings and fragrances, and packed with a bunch of essential oils including Tea Tree, Avocado and Sea Buckthorn which were all specifically chosen for their nourishing and antibacterial properties.

My favourite thing about this soap is the way it lathers up when wet (obviously). Unlike a lot of organic soaps which can feel diluted and thin when used, the Tisserand clear skin soap turns into a thick, moisturiser-esq cream so not only does it feel like you’re washing your face, it feels like you’re giving it a really deep cleanse, too. Plus it leaves your skin super soft, which is always a bonus.

Tea Tree Organic Essential Oil

There’s a couple of different ways you can use tea tree oil on your face depending on what you’re trying to achieve. I have a few serious breakouts at the moment so for a bit more of an intensive treatment I put a few drops of oil onto a cotton bud and dab it on the problem areas. If you’ve got quite resilient skin you can leave on overnight but if you’re quite sensitive I’d wash it off after half hour or so to avoid drying your skin out.

You can also add a couple of drops to your daily moisturiser for a more subtle application. Again, if you do this too often or use too much oil it can dry your skin out so I wouldn’t do this everyday.

You can pick up both of these products from the Tisserand website for super cheap; just £3.95 for the soap and £5.70 for the organic oil.

So there you have it; my current January detox combo from Tisserand. Have you tried the Tisserand Tea Tree+ range? Let me know what you thought in the comments.
