I’ve been a fan of a beauty box long before I switched to a more natural skincare routine and most recently I’ve been loyal to the LoveLula Beauty Box, which delivers a fantastic range of natural products each month. However, there’s occasionally still a box that will turn my head, if just for a moment!
I’ve seen a lot of posts online about Love Me Beauty, a new(ish) monthly beauty subscription offering a slight twist on the traditional 5-products-in-a-box type format.
How does it work?
Well, you do still get a selection of products each month but you get to choose them using a credit system. Each month your subscription cost (£13.95 monthly) gets you 60 credits and you log in to the site and essentially ‘buy’ the products that you want.
60 credits will get you a minimum of 4 products but you can get 5 if you choose wisely and pick the lower credit items. The selection covers everything beauty and skincare and products for August included perfumes, nail polishes, make-up brushes, foundations, oils, lipsticks and more.
And if you simply can’t choose between products you have the option to buy more credits to make sure you don’t miss out on that month’s picks.
What did I get this month?
As soon as I saw you could pick up samples of Kat Von D’s new (expensive!) perfume range, I knew I had to test this box out. I used my credits on:
- 10 Credits: Kat Von D Sinner Eau de Parfum (4.5ml sample size)
- 10 Credits: bareMinerals Skinlongevity Vital Power Serum (7.5ml sample size)
- 20 Credits: EcoTools Brow Shaping Set (full size)
- 20 Credits: Kat Von D Studded Kiss Lipstick – Cathedral (1.2g sample size)
And the nice thing about the Love Me Beauty ‘boxes’ is that they’re not boxes at all. Each month’s haul comes in its own make-up bag, posted in a padded jiffy bag, so there’s little wastage.
The only downside to this box is the element of surprise. You could argue that you’re guaranteed to get something you like with Love Me Beauty, as you picked the products, but as it covers EVERYTHING to do with beauty (not just skincare) I did find my options limited and I ended up picking a lipstick, just because I had to.
If you’re looking for out and out skincare then I wouldn’t recommend this subscription but if you like a little bit of everything PLUS the ability to tailor your monthly products, then Love Me Beauty is ideal.
Prices start from £8 if you buy in bulk and you can see this months product shop here.
